Bears vs. Viking - Season opener MNF

 Bad game. Maybe the worst possible outcome and the exact thing most bears fans were afraid of, causing lots of us to "stay calm" this offseason and wait until we saw them actually winning games. We all knew this was possible but didn't want to see it happen. Feels like starting the whole cycle over again. We've seen this before. 

    Caleb and the offense moved the ball and scored on the first possession, great! let's see it again. Defense gets a stop, great! offense kinda looks okay the rest of the half, but caleb made some bad throws. Defense was still dominant and JJ McCarthy looked like he was lost. Bears just had to keep it up in the second half  and they'd probably win the game.... We all saw the second half, we've seen that before. You're surprised they lost game because it felt like they were dominating. but you're not surprised. Even with the staff last year they were doing this in games. Blowing games that they should be able to win. You gotta learn to win. 

    Caleb didn't look like you were hoping him to look. We all expected him to be much better this year, and to be fair he did look better than his first game last year. But he was missing throws, making bad plays, everything was all stuff you don't want to see from your QB. It's concerning to say the least.  

    Ben with some rookie mistakes. keeping cairo may have been one of them. he isn't a modern day kicker, you need someone who can kick the shit out of the ball, and cairo cannot do that. his max comfortable range is no more than 50 yards. They should have moved on from him. Cairo couldn't kick the ball out of the endzone and the coach didn't tell him to kick it out of bounds. Ben had a really bad challenge, coulda used that timeout. We've certainly seen bad coaching before.

    This game was unexpectedly expected, if that even makes sense. We all knew it was possible but didn't want it to start like this. I don't have a lot of hope for the rest of the season, this first game gave me none. But it's only the first game so we shall see how the rest of the season plays out. It could be painful and ugly, that's what I'm expecting now. I hope I'm wrong. I hope caleb gets better, i hope the offense looks good, i hope the team is good. I'm not convinced.

Bears week 2 vs Lions

 Have been dreading another Bears game since Mondays game, but i'll always talk myself into the bears. There's always a path you say!  That might be changing. It seems like it never gets better, the same shit over and over again. It's almost not worth wasting any time or energy caring about this team until they do something.      The optimist in me still wants to say, "well maybe its growing pains and they will figure it out." I mean Caleb didn't look terrible. The offense was better! But still not good, and the defense was really bad. If JJ is out for an extended period after getting injured again, it could get worse. I definitely expected the defense to be above average this year and right now they look like one of the worst. It's crazy but it feels like the bye can't come soon enough.     I think my mindset currently is just to let this season play out. Bulls Draft

The Bulls haven't really been good for a while. I watched maybe a total of 4 quarters of Bulls games this year. They are losing the patience and eyes of a lot of fans. I don't think tanking is really even worth it in the NBA and draft picks are like 50/50 shot of panning out anyways. Getting the 12th pick this year is "whatever," we need a center desperately so hopefully they go that route. I can't see them being much better next year anyways but time will tell. I do think Matas is going to be good, and the team is generally still young. Which I do think is better than being an old team with no direction - 76ers, Lakers, bucks just to name a few. The problem is the 12th pick in the draft isn't going to make a huge difference, the first pick may not have even made a huge difference.
